Our Services
Fertilization Program
Our fertilization program has everything your yard needs to stay healthy and green all year long. We have three different packages for you to choose from.
Basic Package: Includes seven rounds of fertilizer and weed control:
- Early Spring/ Late Spring: Balanced fertilizer, pre-emergent/post-emergent weed control.
- Early Summer/ Late Summer: Balanced fertilizer, broadleaf weed control.
- Early Fall/ Late Fall: Balanced fertilizer, weed control, winterizer to promote root growth.
Deluxe Package: Includes the same seven rounds as the Basic Package but also includes:
- Aeration
- Lime Application
Custom Package: Pick and choose your own lawn care options (up to seven).
Weed Control
We offer weed control for both our residential and commercial customers to prevent weeds in unwanted areas such as:
- Parking lots
- Driveways
- Patios
- Walkways
We also offer sterilants, which can prevent weeds up to a year.
Pest Control
The worst part about summers in Kansas is the pests. It’s annoying when they bother you in your yard, but it’s a nightmare when they get inside your home. At Custom Lawn Service, we can protect your home and family with our perimeter pest control application which creates an invisible barrier to pests such as:
- Spiders
- Ants
- Beetles
- Roaches
We will make timely applications five times throughout the year to make sure your home stays protected.
Mosquito Control
The most annoying of all pests is the mosquito. During the summer, these insects can drive you mad and bring any outdoor gathering to a swift end. At Custom Lawn Service, we offer mosquito control services to eliminate mosquitoes from your yard so you can enjoy your outdoor spaces in peace.
Tree and Shrub Care
Trees are very important to homeowners, especially out here on the Great Plains, where there’s nothing to block the wind or shade us from the hot sun. A Custom Lawn Service we understand how valuable your trees are. That’s we offer several services to keep your trees and shrubs healthy and strong.
Dormant Oil: Dormant oil is a great way to protect your trees from pests and diseases they can carry. It is applied to the tree in the spring and fall to eliminate overwintering insects. This will keep your tree from being infested in the spring and protects its immune system.
Deep Root Feeding: With deep root feeding, you can get the fertilizers and nutrients right where they are needed in a fraction of the time. With deep root feeding, fertilizer is injected under high pressure directly into the root system of your trees, resulting in thicker foliage and rapid root growth.
Insect Control: During the summer, many different insects can threaten your trees. Not only can they destroy the foliage of your trees, but they can carry diseases that can severely weaken or even kill your trees. Our tree and shrub insect control program lasts from March through October and treats for:
- Bagworms
- Borers
- Mites
- Beetles
Disease Control: There are several diseases that can affect your trees in Kansas. At Custom Lawn Service, we can protect your vulnerable and infected trees so you can enjoy them for generations to come.
Fungicide
At Custom Lawn Service, we have decades of experience dealing with lawn diseases, that affect Kansas lawns. If your yard is showing signs of diseases don’t hesitate to contact us. We can stop the spread before too much damage is done. Common diseases we treat include:

Verticutting
Verticutting is the process of using a machine that has many vertical blades to cut small grooves into your turf down through the thatch layer. This is a good way to reseed your thin or bare spots.
Aeration
Over the years, your soil can become compact from foot traffic, lawn mowing, and being baked in the sun all summer. Compacted soil essentially suffocates your grass by not allowing water, air, or fertilizer to reach the roots. Aeration fixes this by punching holes in the lawn to reduce compaction and loosen up thatch.
Overseeding
Overseeding is usually done after verticutting or aeration to increase the thickness and health of your lawn. By sowing different grass types into your lawn you can boost your turf’s resistance to many diseases and drought.
